Curriculum
The PNCCS curriculum is on establishing where individuals are in their long-term progress, whilst encouraging them to develop into independent, motivated learners and thinkers, complete with curiosity about their surroundings. Thus believing successful learning is most probable when teaching and learning opportunities are well beset on where individuals are in their evolvement, meeting prerequisites for an efficacious engagement and erudition at any given time.
Our objective is to launch the proficiency level a student has reached (based on the substantiation of what he/she knows, understands and can do) and to identify obstacles to further headway. More specifically, learning is maximized when individuals are provided with learning opportunities that stretch and challenge them.
At PNCCS, the curriculum has been picked to accentuate the importance of the emergence of children’s learning, Thus providing them with an increased cognitive challenge, allowing them to apply the skills which they have learned independently supported by our curriculum drivers, the Four C’s which are Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking.
The expansion of self-assurance that comes through self-will and the commitment to learn, persevere and handle tasks and trying situations.
It is a Student-centred interactive approach to help pupils feel responsible for their learning, develop thinking skills, and foster independent social and group processes. We believe children, staff, and the wider school community must have the confidence and ability to use these tackles to prepare them for an ever-changing and rapidly developing world.
To breathe more life into the educational approach, we have adopted and incorporated some of the philosophies of the world-enthused Finnish education system, into our curriculum model to aid uplift the learning and schooling experience of our school.
